SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding Policy Statement
The Danish Church in London is committed to safeguarding the welfare and well-being of children and adults at risk and to providing a safe, caring, and respectful environment for all.
We believe that all children and adults at risk are valued members of the church and should be able to participate safely in all aspects of church life. We respect their dignity and rights and are committed to preventing all forms of abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, financial, discriminatory abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
Safeguarding is a responsibility shared by the whole church. We will report any concerns or suspicions of abuse promptly and work in cooperation with the relevant statutory authorities, including the police, Children’s Services, Adult Services, and Local Authority Designated Officers where appropriate.
We are committed to:
Following all relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance
Promoting safer recruitment and good safeguarding practice
Supporting and training those who work with children and adults at risk
Listening to, valuing, and supporting those affected by abuse
Ensuring appropriate action is taken to protect those at risk
