SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding Statement: The Danish Church in London is committed to protecting the welfare and wellbeing of children and adults at risk, and to creating a safe, caring and respectful environment for everyone.

We believe that all children and adults at risk are valued members of the Church and should be able to participate safely in every aspect of church life. We respect their dignity and rights and are committed to preventing all forms of abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, financial and discriminatory abuse, neglect and domestic abuse.

Safeguarding is a responsibility shared by the whole Church. We will report any concerns or suspicions of abuse immediately and work in partnership with the relevant statutory authorities, including the police, Children’s Services, Adult Services and Local Authority Designated Officers (LADOs), where appropriate.

We are committed to:

-Following all relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.

-Promoting safer recruitment and good safeguarding practice.

-Supporting and training those who work with children and adults at risk.

-Listening to, valuing and supporting those affected by abuse.

-Ensuring that appropriate action is taken to protect those at risk.
