Grants

The Danish Church in London administers a number of grants that people can apply to, provided they meet the relevant eligibility criteria.

Benevolent Fund:

The Danish Church Benevolent Fund provides support to Danes living in the UK who are experiencing financial difficulties. This may include families with children who, in exceptional circumstances, can receive financial assistance, as well as older people and those in poor health who are on a low income.

The Fund also supports people who are in financial need and would like to take part in the Church’s activities but are unable to afford the fees. Support may be provided where considered necessary, as no one should feel excluded from the Church’s activities because of their financial circumstances.

Applications can be made at any time by sending an informal email explaining your circumstances, or by requesting a conversation. Please contact benevolentfund@danskekirke.org or speak to the minister by telephone.

Education Fund:

The Danish Church Education Fund aims to support Danish men and women travelling to England to pursue further education or undertake work placements as part of their studies, including PIU placements. Preference is given to those undertaking business-related studies.

A grant of GBP 2,000 is awarded once a year. The application deadline is 1 September, and applicants will receive a decision no later than 1 October.

Applications should include a CV, an outline of the course of study, examination certificates and a budget for the period in England. They should be sent to the Chair of the Fund at palle@combret.co.uk.

Summer School Fund:

The Summer School Fund pays for places at the Danes Worldwide Summer School in Denmark for as many pupils from the Lørdagsskole as the income generated by the Fund allows. Lørdagsskolen will announce when applications are open.
