Karsten Møller Hansen:

Karsten has been the minister at The Danish Church in London since January 2024.

Here, he helps create a spiritual and social focal point for Danes living in the UK, a place where people can come together to explore faith, life's big questions and a sense of community with fellow Danes living far from home.

He moved to London after 17 years as a parish priest in Tårnby, Amager. He relocated to England with his wife, Lisa Butzbach. They have four children. Previously, he has worked as a hospital chaplain and a prison chaplain. He graduated in theology from the University of Copenhagen in 2005 and was ordained as a priest in 2006.

In his ministry, Karsten places great importance on including and connecting with all people, especially young people preparing for confirmation. He is interested in the questions that matter as human beings: about faith and doubt, hope and loneliness, friendship and belonging. These are also recurring themes in his books and newspaper columns, where he writes with warmth and reflection about relationships, finding courage in life and navigating our way through it.

Alongside his work as a minister, he writes columns for Berlingske and reviews books for Kristeligt Dagblad. He also regularly appears on podcasts, television programmes and in films, offering perspectives on faith, ethics and life's big questions. Among other things, he has taken part in the DR P1 programme Hvad ville Jesus have sagt?

He is the author of Det skal nok gå godt (2021) and Du må ikke blive væk (2022).

Across both his ministry and his writing, his work is characterised by a desire to create space for honest conversations about life, faith and the relationships that matter to us all.
